Blue Mountain, Miss.- Blue Mountain Christian Men's Soccer put together an offensive showcase Saturday night at The Summit, scoring four goals in each half on its way to an 8-0 victory over Talladega College.
The Toppers wasted little time finding the back of the net.Â
Dipanda Silva Jr. opened the scoring in the eighth minute off an assist from
Sammuel Davi Cavalcante before striking again just over three minutes later.Â
Erick Braga and
Pedro Pina provided the assists on Silva's second goal, giving BMCU an early 2-0 advantage.
Nicholas Vieira kept the momentum rolling with a pair of goals later in the opening half.Â
Vieira scored his first in the 28th minute before finding the back of the net again in the 32nd off an assist from
Malachi Hodgson, sending the Toppers into halftime with a 4-0 advantage.
BMCU picked up right where it left off after the break.Â
Yalin Alici scored just two minutes into the second half, assisted by
Pedro Suarez and Hodgson.
Cory Nash made it 6-0 in the 61st minute off Pina's second assist of the night.Â
Just 70 seconds later, Alici completed his brace with Nash and
Victor Silva combining on the assist.
Silva put the finishing touch on the night in the 71st minute, scoring BMCU's eighth and final goal.
The Toppers finished with 31 shots, placing 15 on frame. Silva Jr., Vieira and Alici each scored twice, while Nash and Silva each finished with a goal and an assist.Â
Pina and Hodgson led the way with two assists apiece as BMCU totaled nine assists on its eight goals.
The offensive fireworks were complemented by a strong defensive performance.Â
Selleck Burggraf played all 90 minutes in goal, making three saves to secure the clean sheet for the Toppers.
