Toppers walk it off twice to sweep No. 12 Mobile on senior day

Blue Mountain, Miss.- On a day meant to celebrate its seniors, the Toppers delivered one of their most resilient performances of the season, earning a pair of walk-off victories over No. 12 Mobile in two tightly contested matchups.
Game 1 unfolded as a true pitching duel, with neither side able to break through until the final inning.
Madison Montgomery was steady in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout while limiting the Rams to just five hits and keeping the game within reach throughout.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Toppers found their moment. Maryn Macri, running for Vaye Savage, came around to score on a clutch double to the left-center gap from Bre Ramsey, sealing a 1-0 walk-off win and igniting the Senior Day crowd.
Game 2 brought a different rhythm early, as the Toppers built momentum offensively.
Blue Mountain Christian took the lead in the third on a sacrifice fly from Aspen Teague before extending the advantage in the sixth inning.
Vaye Savage delivered an RBI double, Lakyn Nichols followed with a run-scoring single, and Karen Wisher added another RBI double to push the lead to 4-0.
Mobile responded in the seventh inning, taking advantage of worsening field conditions to rally for four runs and even the game at 4-4.
During the inning, Neely Cooper was struck by a line drive, prompting Montgomery to enter in relief and finish the frame.
With the game tied and tension building, the Toppers once again found a way.
In the bottom of the seventh, Blue Mountain Christian loaded the bases before Savage was hit by a pitch, bringing home the winning run and securing a 5-4 walk-off victory to complete the sweep.
Anna Harrison set the tone at the top of the lineup in Game 2, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and creating pressure on the basepaths, while Savage drove in two runs and delivered in key moments.
Nichols and Wisher each added an RBI as part of a balanced offensive effort.
Across both games, the Toppers showed poise, toughness, and the ability to respond in high-pressure moments—closing Senior Day with two hard-fought wins over a nationally ranked opponent.
