Mount Vernon, Ga.- The Blue Mountain Christian Toppers closed out their SSAC baseball series against Brewton-Parker Christian with a powerful offensive showing on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Barons 19–8 in Mount Vernon, Georgia.
After two difficult games to begin the series, the Toppers responded with one of their most productive offensive performances of the season, piling up hits throughout the lineup to secure the series finale victory.
Blue Mountain Christian's offense found its rhythm early and never slowed down as the Toppers consistently put pressure on Brewton-Parker pitching.
BMCU produced runs in multiple innings and capitalized on scoring opportunities with timely hitting and aggressive baserunning.
The Barons managed to generate offense of their own, but the Toppers continued to answer with big innings, steadily extending their lead and ultimately pulling away with the convincing 19–8 win.
The Toppers' lineup delivered an explosive day at the plate, finishing with 17 hits and four home runs.
Jake Meilstrup led the offensive surge with a standout performance, going 2-for-6 with three runs scored, six RBI, a triple, and a home run.
Jacob Bryant also had a big day, finishing 3-for-6 with two runs scored, three RBI, a double, and a home run.
Gates Gerhart was productive throughout the game, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBI, two walks, and a stolen base, while
Garret Lance added power to the lineup with a 2-for-5 performance that included three runs scored, two RBI, and a home run.
Additional offensive contributions came from
Gavin Foley, who went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI, while
Cody Presley finished 2-for-6 with two runs scored and a double.
Ross Polizzi drove in two RBI, and both
Jarrett Morris and
Yaidel Perez added one hit, one RBI, and a walk to round out the balanced offensive effort for the Toppers.
On the mound,
Benji Webb got the start for Blue Mountain Christian and earned the win, working 6.1 innings while allowing 11 hits, eight runs, four earned runs, and one walk while striking out seven.
Christian Manness came on in relief and helped close out the contest, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing just one hit with no runs while striking out one to secure the victory for the Toppers.
With the win, Blue Mountain Christian finished the SSAC series on a positive note, using a dominant offensive performance and strong contributions across the lineup to defeat Brewton-Parker Christian 19–8 in the series finale.
