Strong pitching, timely bats lead Toppers past Stillman

Tuscaloosa, Ala.- In a dominant opening contest of the doubleheader in Tuscaloosa, the Toppers (3-0) delivered a comprehensive performance to blank Stillman College (0-3), 11-0.
BMCU jumped ahead early and never looked back, scoring seven runs in the second inning to seize control and then adding insurance runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.
The Tigers struggled to generate offense, finishing the game with just two hits while committing a key error that helped fuel BMCU's big inning.
The Toppers offense was balanced and productive.
Aspen Teague led the charge with a big night at the plate, recording three RBIs and multiple hits. Maryn Macri went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, including a triple, while Kelsey Camp chipped in two hits and an RBI.
Rachel Rommel also contributed with two RBIs, and BMCU applied pressure on the base paths with multiple stolen bases.
On the mound, Bri Langley was masterful, tossing a complete game shutout while allowing only two hits and striking out four, setting the tone defensively for the day.
The Toppers will play at home on Tuesday against Williams Baptist.
Game Two
Blue Mountain Christian continued its offensive explosion, defeating Stillman College 12-1. BMCU built momentum early with timely hitting and never relinquished the lead, scoring in every phase of the game.
After tallying two runs in the second inning, the Toppers extended the advantage with key multi-run frames in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
Stillman's lone run came late in the sixth, but BMCU's scoring margin was too great to overcome.
The Toppers were led by a host of contributors. Bre Ramsey turned in a standout performance with two RBIs and multiple hits.
Anna Harrison added two RBIs of her own, while Gail Wisher drove in a run and recorded extra-base hits, including a triple.
Vaye Savage, in a pinch-hit role, delivered a crucial triple that plated three runs in the sixth inning to punctuate the scoring surge.
Aspen Teague, Karen Wisher, and Chloe Shelton all chipped in key hits and RBIs as well, helping BMCU finish with 14 hits in the contest.
On the mound, Jana Shaw was efficient and effective, holding Stillman to just one run over six innings of work.
