Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Toppers give fight, fall to Dalton State

Blue Mountain, Miss.- The Blue Mountain Christian men's basketball team competed with energy and purpose on Saturday night at Tyler Gymnasium but ultimately came up short in a 90–80 decision against Dalton State College in Southern States Athletic Conference action.
The Toppers stayed within striking distance throughout the contest, showcasing balance and toughness on both ends of the floor before the Roadrunners pulled away in the closing minutes.
Blue Mountain Christian opened the game with strong tempo, trading baskets early and finding success through disciplined offensive execution.
The Toppers moved the ball well in the first half and attacked the paint with confidence, keeping pace as Dalton State countered with timely scoring of its own.
The second half mirrored the intensity of the opening period, as the Toppers continued to respond to Dalton State runs and kept the margin manageable.
Shannon and Baker led the offensive charge, combining for 45 points, with Shannon finishing with 23 points and Baker close behind with 22 points.
Blue Mountain Christian mixed perimeter shooting with aggressive drives to the basket and generated second-chance opportunities to maintain pressure, but Dalton State capitalized in key moments down the stretch to extend its lead late.
Despite the final score, the Toppers' effort was marked by resilience and composure, with contributions coming across the lineup and consistent energy on the defensive end.
BMCU's ability to compete wire-to-wire against a strong Dalton State team highlighted the group's growth as conference play continues.
The Toppers will travel to Stillman College on Tuesday night.
