Tuscaloosa, Ala.- Blue Mountain Christian men's basketball battled hard on the road Thursday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but ultimately fell to Stillman 86-70.
Despite a spirited effort and standout individual performances, the Toppers couldn't overcome a strong offensive showing from the host Tigers.
Blue Mountain Christian kept the game competitive early, with senior standout
Gavin Shannon pacing the offense with a game-high 29 points.
Shannon was aggressive from all levels, contributing 11 rebounds and anchoring the Topper attack throughout the first half.
Esrael Yant added a solid outing with 16 points and 10 rebounds, giving BMCU a double-figure scoring presence inside and helping maintain pressure on the Tigers in the early stages.
Jonathan Baker also chipped in 17 points and played an important complementary scoring role as the Toppers worked to stay within striking distance.
Despite the loss, the Toppers showed grit and effort against a well-executed opponent.
With strong scoring nights from Shannon, Yant, and Baker, Blue Mountain Christian showcased individual talent and tenacity, valuable building blocks as the season continues.
