Blue Mountain, Miss.- Blue Mountain Christian's men's basketball team dropped an SSAC matchup to Life University, 89–63, in a hard-fought battle at Tyler Gymnasium. 
From tip-off onward, both squads played with intensity, exchanging early baskets and defensive possessions before Life gradually built separation with consistent scoring throughout the contest.
The game's tempo remained competitive in the opening minutes, with the Toppers executing intelligently on offense and attacking the rim. 
Jonathan Baker provided an early spark for BMCU, knocking down multiple shots from the perimeter, including three three-pointers, to pace the Topper offense. 
Gavin Shannon also made his presence felt, scoring in transition and on strong drives to the basket as the Toppers stayed engaged through the early stretches of the game.
As the contest moved into the second half, Life maintained control behind balanced scoring, but Blue Mountain Christian continued to compete on every possession. 
Shannon led the Toppers with a team-high 21 points while adding two steals and providing steady leadership on both ends of the floor. 
Baker finished with 15 points, connecting from long range and supplying energy throughout the night. 
Michael Hill added 12 points and contributed several effort plays, while Esrael Yant rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points and four rebounds.
The Toppers saw contributions across the lineup, with consistent ball movement and effort throughout the contest.
Blue Mountain Christian will travel to Tuscaloosa on Tuesday night to take on Stillman College.
