HATTIESBURG, Miss. – No. 10 nationally ranked William Carey Men downed Blue Mountain Christian here Saturday in SSAC play, winning 4-1.
It was the first lost for Blue Mountain since September 12, and the Toppers' first SSAC loss of the season.
The Crusaders would get three goals in the first half, with Joshua Salas scoring at the 10:30 mark and Pedro Sao Tiago scoring at 11:17.
Blue Mountain would answer four minutes later, as
Daniel Nunes found the back of the net unassisted for his team at 15:54.
At 34:19, Carey's Santiago Molina added a goal, giving his team the 3-1 lead at the break.
In the second half, the two teams battled until the Crusaders recorded another score from Molina at 70:58 to give his team a 4-1 lead.

Luan Nascimento would have three saves on the day, while the Toppers got off eight shots and five shots on goal.
BMCU (4-4-2, 2-1-1 SSAC) returns to action Wednesday, October 1 against Life University in Marietta, Ga. at 6:30 p.m. CT.
