BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – GAME 1 – Blue Mountain Christian and (RV) Mobile met Friday here for SSAC doubleheader action, with the Rams claiming Game 1 by a scorer of 2-0 in a pitcher's duel.
Mobile's Riley Smith dealt a two-hit shutout for her team, while Neely Cooper tossed a strong complete game for the Toppers.
Cooper (4-7) would toss a complete game, allowing two runs, scattering eight hits with a K.
Smith would throw a complete game with a K for Mobile.
The Rams would get both runs in the top of the first, a groundout RBI from Miah Simmons and a run on a wild pitch.
Bre Ramsey and Iris Farve had a hit each for Blue Mountain.
 
GAME 2
Mobile would take the backend game, winning 5-2 over the Toppers to sweep the day.
The Rams would plate a run in the top of the second on a Topper error and followed it up with RBI singles in the third from Carleigh Bowden and Caitlin Lanham.
In the sixth, the Rams would get an RBI single from Lucy Spisto and an RBI double by Miah Simmons to further the lead.
In the bottom of the seventh, Blue Mountain would get a double from Julianna Ingram, and a follow-up RBI single from Shante Beaulieu.  Ingram would also come around to score on a groundout, but the Toppers couldn't scratch across anymore, giving the Rams the victory.
Abby Keller (5-3) would suffer the loss for BMCU, tossing 2.1 innings, giving up two runs on five hits.
BMCU (21-21, 9-15 SSAC) returns to action Tuesday in non-conference play against NCAA DII Christian Brothers at 2 and 4 p.m. in Blue Mountain.
