BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – GAME 1 - Blue Mountain Christian Baseball reached 20 wins on the season here during midweek action against Williams Baptist, making it the fourth straight season to hit the milestone.
The Toppers made easy work of the Eagles in the opener, winning 12-4 behind nine team hits.
Chris Smith provided a sac-fly in the first to give the Toppers a 1-0 lead, but the third inning told the tale.
BMCU would plate 10 runs in the inning, with
Gehrig Shinall hitting a two-run single, Ty Roberson drilling a three-run triple, Smith driving in another run with a single,
Ross Polizzi driving in a run with a sac-fly and
Jacob Bryant doubling in a run.
Carson Gault would provide the insurance in the sixth, as he belted a solo homer to right to finish off the Eagles.
Roberson finished with two hits and three RBI, while
Gehrig Shinall chipped in a pair of hits with two RBI.
Austin Garrison (2-1) picked up the pitching win for BMCU, tossing a complete game, giving up three earned runs on seven hits with two Ks.
GAME 2
Blue Mountain picked up its 21
st victory of the season in the nightcap, winning 9-8 in 11 innings on a walkoff.
In the bottom of the first, Blue Mountain would get an RBI double by
Jacob Bryant and a sac-fly from
Josiah Rivera to tie the game at 2-2.
The Toppers would take the lead in the bottom of the second, as
Braxton Miller doubled down the line to score two and Rivera drove in a run with a double.
The Toppers tacked on another in the fourth with a sac-fly from Bryant to make it 7-4.
The Eagles would battle back to score three runs late, sending the 7-inning game into extras.
In the top of the eighth, Williams would take the lead on a Topper error, but Blue Mountain answered with an RBI single by
Gehrig Shinall, to send the game further.

th, Coach
Taylor Clark went to pinch-hitter Jesse Mellinger who delivered a bases-loaded single to give the Toppers the walkoff victory.
Miller led the way with three hits and two RBI, while
Tyrese Roberson had two hits and three runs scored.
Jabari Farr (3-1) picked up the win for BMCU in relief, throwing four innings, allowing one run on three hits with three Ks.
BMCU (21-22, 10-14 SSAC) returns to action Friday and Saturday in an important three-game series against SSAC top dog William Carey in Blue Mountain.
