Jackson, Tenn.- BMCU started their week on the road against the Lane Dragons and swept the NCAA division II team.
Abby Keller imposed her will inside the circle, with seven shutout innings and seven strike outs.
MJ Mitchell had a terrific game one going 2-3 with a 2 RBI single.
Maryn Macri had an impressive performance from the plate, going 2-3 as well.
Keller allowed just one walk and six hits, which secured a victory in game one with masterful performance.
In game two,
Bri Langley got the start pitching for BMCU. She looked dominant, pitching a complete game with nine strike outs,
Kelsey Camp got the scoring for the lady Toppers started, with a 2 RBI single that scored
Bre Ramsey and
Iris Farve.
Lane battled back in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs to take a 3-2 lead.
After the first inning, Langley was lights out. She did not allow another run while the BMCU bats continued to stay hot.
In the second inning,
Skylar Lee hit an RBI double down the left field line to score
Shante Beaulieu and tie the game at 3-3.
In the third inning, Camp hit an RBI single to score Macri to take the lead.
Farve hit a solo shot in the fifth inning, and
Sam Whitwell earned an RBI on a ground out that scored
Neely Barrier.
With Langley allowing just one walk and six hits in game two, the lady Toppers earned another victory over the Dragons.
BMCU travels to Tifton, Georgia to face off against the ABAC Stallions on Friday.
