BMCU wins SSAC series from Brewton-Parker

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – GAME 3 - Blue Mountain Christian and Brewton-Parker settled the three-game series here Saturday, as the Toppers would win the game 13-11 and take the series.
The Toppers scored in the bottom of the first, as Will Crawford drove in Tyrese Roberson with a sac-fly to center Hayden Redding would score on an error.
Josiah Rivera would then deposit it a ball into left center to drive in another run to make it 3-0 after one.
Blue Mountain would get another in the fifth, as Crawford hit another sac-fly to center to give the Toppers a 4-0 lead.
The Barons would finally get a run against BMCU lefty Max Bates in the sixth, as Jack Morris would get an RBI double down the right field line.  Bates would spend five innings dominating the Barons before the run.
BPC would tie it at 4-all in the top of the seventh, as they would get an RBI single from Marquette Gibson a sac-bunt score and another on a wild pitch.
The Toppers answered in the bottom of the seventh, as Hayden Redding drilled a single through the left side to drive in two runs and give BMCU the 6-4 lead.
BMCU plated two more in the inning, as Roberson scored on an error and Carson Gault provided a sac-fly.
The Barons would climb all the way back to take the lead in the top of the eighth by scoring seven runs, but the Toppers continued to plate runners in the bottom half with the big blow coming from Gault who smashed a two-run double to right center to give the Toppers a 13-11 lead.
Cole Giordano (3-2) would pick up the win in relief for the Toppers, tossing 1.1 innings of one-hit ball with a K.
Gault finished with three hits and three RBI, while Redding had two hits with three RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases.
Jacob Bryant kicked in three hits and two runs, and Roberson had two hits with two runs.  Ross Polizzi would chip in two hits and two runs scored also for the Toppers.
BMCU (12-9, 5-4 SSAC) returns to SSAC action in a three-game series with nationally ranked Faulkner University Friday and Saturday in Blue Mountain.
