BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – UT-Southern would best Blue Mountain Christian down the stretch here Saturday on Senior Day and in the final regular-season game of the year, winning 83-66.
The game was tight for the majority of action, but the Lady Firehawks found another gear to take the SSAC tilt.
BMCU seniors
Charnita Brooks and
Crystin Guy finished their collegiate careers on a high note despite the loss, as Brooks had 24 points with five rebounds and Guy had 10 points with five rebounds and two steals.
Maddie Kirk would also have a solid game offensively, scoring 15 points with five rebounds while stealing two.
McKenzie Williams chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds, while
Isabella Carlson had six points with nine boards.
The Lady Toppers now turn their attention to the SSAC Championship Tournament, slated for February 26 – March 1 at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. where they enter as the seventh seed.
BMCU will face off against Point University Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 9 a.m. in the opening round.
BMCU closes out the regular season with a record of 15-11 overall and 7-9 in SSAC play.
