MONTGOMERY, Ala. – No. 8 seed Blue Mountain Christian Women won its opening round game over No. 9 seed Point here Wednesday morning at the SSAC Championship, 55-44.
The win sets up an in-state showdown with SSAC regular season champs, and undefeated William Carey Thursday in the second round.

Crystin Guy turned it up a notch for her team, leading all scorers with 23 points while
Maddie Kirk turned in a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
McKenzie Williams put in work also for the Lady Toppers, contributing seven points and 13 boards in the victory.
The Blue Mountain defense swarmed the Skyhawks, holding them to just 25 percent shooting from the field and holding the Point bench to just three points.
The Lady Toppers and William Carey will square off tomorrow at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex with tip set for 12:30 p.m. CT.
