POINT, Ga. – GAME 3 – BMCU's
Max Bates was dominate on the mound, while the Topper offense made quick work of Point in Game 3 of the SSAC series here Saturday to sweep all three games.
Bates and the Toppers would need only seven innings to shut out the Skyhawks, winning 10-0.
Bates (2-2) tossed a complete game, four-hitter with a strikeout, needing only 63 pitches on his way to the victory.
The Toppers would get three straight RBI singles in the first from
Carson Gault,
Josiah Rivera and
Jacob Bryant to take a 3-0 lead.
In the third, Gault doubled in another run, while Rivera and Bryant singled in runs again.
Yaidel Perez would also knock in a run with a sac-fly to make it 8-0.
Austin Garrison would drive in a run with a sac-fly in the fifth and
Will Crawford followed with an RBI single in the sixth to finish off the Skyhawks.
Bryant finished with three hits, two RBI and two runs scored, while Gault and Rivera both had two hits and two RBI each.
BMCU (10-7, 3-3 SSAC) next welcomes former SSAC foe Bethel (Tenn.) to Blue Mountain Tuesday, February 25 with first pitch set for 3 p.m. CT.
