Cochran, Ga.- BMCU traveled to the peach state to open conference play against MGA on Friday afternoon.
In Game one, Toppers got on the scoreboard quickly in the first inning, with a two RBI double hit by
Carson Gault to score
Josiah Rivera and
Jacob Bryant.
Miller pitched for the Knights in game one and after the first inning he threw six scoreless to gain the win over the Toppers.
Benji Webb was on the mound starting game one for the Toppers and went five innings. He allowed seven runs, but only four of those were earned.
Rey Castaneda came in relief for an inning in the sixth and gave up one run and one hit.
In game two, MGA got hot with the bats in the first inning. They scored seven runs in the first.
The Knights limited the Toppers opportunities to score giving up just three hits.
Cameron Gordon came out in relief and put up a solid performance for BMCU. He went six and one-thirds of an inning, while allowing two runs and seven hits.
The Toppers will battle against the Knights again tomorrow in game three on the conference series at 1:00 pm.
