MOBILE, Ala. – Saturday saw the conclusion to the regular season here, as BMCU dropped 0-3 to top conference foe Mobile (25-27, 20-25, 17-25).
With the seeds all but set for the SSAC Championship, the Volley Toppers finish with a record of 11-5 in conference play.
Marissa Gerleman would lead the Toppers with 11 kills, while Rachel Stegall had 10.
Reanna Brown would have 19 assists for the Toppers, while Peyton Kidd had 17.
Kora Wilson led the defense with 20 digs, and Salice Speed chipped in nine kills offensively.
Corrina Porch Maxey would lead the Rams offensively with 13 kills.
The Toppers would go on to swing at a .136 pace, while Mobile hit .259., as BMCU had 22 attack errors on the day.
BMCU closes the regular season 21-7 overall and 11-5 in the SSAC, completing another 20-plus win season for the fifth straight year.
BMCU will now turn its sights to the conference championship, slated for November 13-15 at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. with the seeds and pairings coming later today.
