Montgomery, Ala. – Blue Mountain Christian traveled to Montgomery on Thursday evening for an SSAC matchup against Faulkner, falling 80–52 in a game where the Eagles were able to create early momentum that carried throughout the night.
Faulkner found success from the perimeter with 14 made threes, helping them build their lead in the opening half.
The Toppers continued to work to create good looks offensively and put together their strongest stretch coming out of halftime, scoring 19 points in the third quarter.
Rebecca Walter led BMCU with an efficient 20 points, adding 8 rebounds, a steal, and two assists while shooting 8-of-14 from the field.
Maddie Kirk added 7 points, including a three-pointer, and
Isabella Carlson totaled 6 points and 5 assists as she helped guide the offense.
Kathryn Echols contributed 8 points with two threes and a perfect 2-for-2 at the line.
Off the bench,
Dominique Collins and
Lena Taylor each connected on a three-pointer, giving the Toppers additional scoring lifts throughout the evening.
BMCU finished the game with eight made threes as a team and shot 76.9% from the free-throw line, converting 10 of their 13 attempts.
The Toppers will travel to Mobile to face Mobile on Saturday at 12:00 PM in Mobile, AL.
