McKenzie, Tenn.- The Volley Toppers traveled to Bethel University for a midweek matchup Tuesday evening, rolling past the Wildcats in straight sets, 3-0.
Salice Speed and Valeria Velez led the charge for the Toppers, each recording 11 kills on efficient hitting. Speed turned in an outstanding .556 hitting percentage, while Velez hit at a solid .250 clip.
Marissa Gerleman added 8 kills from the middle blocker position, boasting an impressive .421 hitting percentage in the match.
Setter Reanna Brown orchestrated the Topper attack once again, finishing with 23 assists. Eight different Toppers recorded an assist on the night, showcasing the team's strong offensive rhythm.
The front line held firm defensively, totaling 9 blocks in the three-set sweep. Caleigh Grace Turpin had a strong outing at the net, tallying one solo block and three block assists.
On the back line, libero Kora Wilson anchored the defense with 23 digs, continuing her consistent play this season.
The Volley Toppers will return home for an SSAC matchup against the Point Skyhawks on Saturday inside Tyler Gym.
