CONWAY, Ark. – Blue Mountain Christian Women kicked off the 2025-26 season, hitting the right note with an 80-52 drilling over Central Baptist.
Senior sharpshooter 
Kathryn Echols drained a three on the first shot of the game for the Lady Toppers and followed it up with three more in the opening quarter to push BMCU out to a 26-14 lead.
Echols would hit another from deep 30 seconds into the second quarter, while 
Lindsey Murr added eight points in the period to give the Lady Toppers a 43-33 lead at the break.
Blue Mountain's supporting cast got involved in the third, with 
Mookie Lampley, 
Maddie Kirk and 
Rebecca Walter contributing offensively to give Blue Mountain a 58-42 lead after the third.
Walter led the charge early in the fourth, connecting on three buckets for Blue Mountain leading to the blowout victory.
Echols led all scorers with 22 points including six from three, while Lampley had 17 and Walter turned in a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Murr and 
McKenzie Williams would chip in eight points each in the winning effort for the Lady Toppers.
Offensively, Blue Mountain would shoot 46 percent from the floor, while holding the Mustangs to just 33 percent shooting.
BMCU (1-0) returns to action Tuesday against No. 6 nationally ranked Freed-Hardeman at 5:30 p.m. CT in Henderson, Tenn.
