Hattiesburg, Miss.- The Volley Toppers opened their weekend with a hard-fought match against SSAC rival William Carey, falling to the Crusaders in five sets.
Salice Speed recorded a double-double performance, finishing with 16 kills and 16 digs in the back-and-forth contest.
The setter duo of 
Reanna Brown and 
Peyton Kidd continued to shine in rotation. Brown tallied 25 assists, nine digs, and five kills, while Kidd added 16 assists and four service aces.
On the defensive side, 
Caleigh Grace Turpin totaled four blocks, with Speed contributing three more at the net.
Anchoring the back line, senior libero 
Kora Wilson collected 26 digs, while 
Abbi Williams added 11 of her own.
