Blue Mountain, Miss.- Blue Mountain Christian University hosted NCAA Division II Mississippi College on Monday afternoon, falling 5-2.
The Choctaws came out strong, scoring three of their five goals within the first fifteen minutes of play.
The Toppers responded at the 22:14 mark of the first period when
Daniel Gomez found the back of the net off an assist from
Elvis Ezendu.
Mississippi College would tack on two more goals before halftime to take a 5-1 lead into the break.
In the second half, the BMCU defense settled in, holding the Choctaws scoreless. The Toppers added one more goal late in the match at the 86th minute when
Arthur Menezes scored off a setup from
Yalin Alici.
Mississippi College took the match with a final score of 5-2.
The Toppers will return home on Saturday for their final match of the season as they host UT Southern on Senior Day.
