West Point, Ga.- The Toppers traveled to Point University for an SSAC matchup against the Skyhawks on Saturday afternoon, falling 2–0.
The Skyhawks struck quickly, scoring within the first minute of the match on a goal by Calado. The Toppers nearly answered moments later when
Karim Swedi fired a shot on goal that was saved by the Skyhawk keeper.
BMCU continued to generate chances throughout the first period, including attempts by Swedi and
Dipanda Silva Jr. in the 22nd minute, but were unable to capitalize. Point carried a 1–0 advantage into the half.
The Skyhawks extended their lead in the 51st minute with a goal from Palhoto. Despite a strong second-half push that included two shots off the crossbar from
Kida Yamaguchi and another on-frame attempt from Silva Jr., the Toppers were unable to find the back of the net.
Point University held on for the 2–0 victory in conference play.
BMCU will play a match versus Mississippi College on Monday afternoon.
