Blue Mountain, Miss.- The Lady Toppers were bested in the final minute of action against the Loyola Wolf Pack.
In the first quarter, Charnita Brooks found a scoring rhythm quickly with nine points.
The lady Toppers caused seven turnovers in the first quarter, but Loyola was able to answer with help from Lymon. She had nine points in the first.
Brooks answered again in the second quarter with seven points, and Maddie Kirk was right there with her scoring seven points of her own.
BMCU by the end of the first half was able to get out to a two-point advantage.
Loyola was able to answer back in the third quarter by holding the lady Toppers to fourteen points.
Thornton scored ten points in the third to take a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Crystin Guy was able to connect on four of her five field goals in the fourth, and Kirk chipped in six points with two steals.
Yet foul trouble was the Achilles heel of the game late with three lady Toppers having four personal fouls.
Three lady Toppers hit double digit scoring with Kirk who had an impressive stat line of twenty-two points, five rebounds, and four steals.
Guy sneaked in another great performance with twenty points.
Brooks had a great game with eighteen points.
Next Tuesday, the lady Toppers will take on take on Arkansas Baptist at 5:30 PM.
