Pulaski, Tenn.- Coming off Christmas break the Toppers traveled to Pulaski, Tennessee to face off against conference foe UT-Southern.
Charnita Brooks dealt a hot hand early in the game with seven points. Six of those points came from behind the arc.
Maddie Kirk and
Isabella Carlson followed suit and cashed in five points apiece.
After the first quarter, it was a tight ball game with the Fire Hawks leading by one point.
Dickey for UT-Southern scored nine points in the second quarter, while the lady Toppers struggled shooting ten percent on field goals.
The Fire Hawks took an eleven-point lead going into halftime.
Throughout the third quarter, the lady Toppers and the Fire Hawks exchanged blows.
Crystin Guy put up thirteen points in the third quarter, but Reid from UT-Southern matched her.
UT-Southern had a sound performance in the fourth quarter with Dickey scoring another nine points.
BMCU had four players with double digit scoring performances in the game, but they were unable to overcome the hot-handed Fire Hawks.
Guy finished the game with seventeen points and five rebounds.
Mia Jones came off the bench to score fourteen for the lady Toppers.
Kirk and Brooks had eleven points each.
The lady Toppers will have a break from the road trips as they play Loyola at Tyler Gymnasium on Thursday night.
