Blue Mountain, Miss.- BMCU fall short to the Nighthawks in a Thursday night thriller.
The Thomas University Nighthawks came out the gate fast to start the first half of action against the Toppers. 
Ikechi Ajukwa and Jason Hunt were able to help tie up the score at the fifteen-minute mark of action.
Ajukwa shot the ball well in the first with fourteen points and grabbed five rebound to go along with it.
Hunt also hit double digits with eleven points.
Neither team could hold the momentum in the first half until towards the end of the first half where the Nighthawks were able to take an eight-point lead into halftime.
In the early window of the second half, Thomas University jumped out to a lead of thirteen points, but BMCU continued to battle.
The Toppers dwindled down the Nighthawks lead to two points in the final three minutes of the game with help from Jalen Boyd-Savage.
Fouls and missed opportunities spurned the Toppers chances of retaking the lead in the closing minute of action.
Ajukwa had a breakout game for BMCU with a double-double of a team high twenty-one points scored and eleven rebounds.
Hunt and Boyd-Savage both finished the game with fourteen points.
BMCU will play against Middle Georgia on Saturday at 2:00 PM in Tyler Gymnasium.
