BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – GAME 3 – Blue Mountain Christian Baseball manhandled Kansas Christian here Thursday in Game 3 of the four-game series, easily winning 18-2.
Arderrius Townsend used the Falcon pitching staff as batting practice, going 4-for-4 with five RBI and two runs scored with a homer and two doubles.
Hayden Redding and
Chris Smith joined in on the fun, with both notching three hits with three RBI and three runs scored.
Hayden Arant chipped in two hits in the massacre, including a triple with two runs scored and an RBI.
Josiah Rivera would also drive in two runs and score two runs for Blue Mountain.
Taylor Sipes (1-0) was money on the mound for Blue Mountain, as the starter went six innings, giving up two runs on six hits with four Ks.
The Topper offense beat up KCC starter Chris Ziegelmey, tagging him for five earned runs on eight hits in just four innings.
GAME 4
Game 4 wasn't much different from the previous, as Blue Mountain would shell the Falcons 12-3 in the nightcap.
This time it was
Carson Gault and
Chris Hoing who provided the fireworks at the plate for the Toppers. Gault belted a two-run homer to right in the sixth and also tripled earlier in the game to drive in a run.
Hoing delivered an RBI single in the first and a two-run double in the third for the Toppers.
Arderrius Townsend delivered again, this time with two hits and three runs scored.
Bryland Skinner would also score three runs for the Toppers in the courtesy runner position.
Gault would finish with two hits and three RBI, with Hoing getting three hits with three RBI.
Chris Smith would also get two more hits in the nightcap for Blue Mountain.
Flamethrower
Shaine O'Keefe (1-0) made his second start of the season, getting the win with four innings of no-hit ball with six Ks.
BMCU (5-1) now rides a four-game winning streak as they prepare to host Tougaloo Tuesday in a doubleheader at Topper Field with first pitch set for 2 p.m. CT.
