MOBILE, Ala. – GAME 1 - Blue Mountain Christian Softball kicked off its SSAC schedule here today in a doubleheader against nationally ranked No. 12 Mobile.
Things didn't go the Toppers' way in Game 1, as the Rams dealt them a 6-0 defeat.
Mobile would get four runs in the bottom of the third against Topper starter
Jacy Weaver, as Gracie Vanderford had a two-run double, and Kristen Black also doubled in a run.
Mobile put two more on the board in the fifth as Caitlin McCree hit a two-run homer over the left field fence.
The Toppers couldn't manage to put anything meaningful together offensively, as Mobile's Avery Harrell spun a gem in the circle, throwing a complete-game shutout, giving up three hits and striking out 12 batters.

Skylar Lee had Blue Mountain's three hits, one each and all singles.
Weaver (1-4) suffered the loss for the Toppers, tossing six innings, giving up six runs on six hits with a K.
GAME 2
The nightcap would go Mobile's way again, as they blanked Blue Mountain by the same score, 6-0.
Mobile catcher Madilyn Sheffield did most of the damage offensively, as she would go 3-for-3 with three RBI.
In the bottom of the third, Sheffield would double to left against BMCU starter
Bri Langley to drive in a run.
In the fifth, Sheffield would belt a homer to left, a solo shot. She would single to right in the bottom of the sixth to drive in her third of the day.
Jadyn Yarbro would lead Blue Mountain at the plate with a 2-for-2 game.
Langley (3-2) suffered the loss in the circle for the Toppers, throwing 5.1 innings, giving up four earned runs on nine hits with a K.
Mobile's Brinkley Goff grabbed the pitching decision, tossing a complete game shutout, giving up five hits with three Ks.
BMCU (5-8, 0-2 SSAC) returns to action tomorrow against state rival William Carey in an SSAC doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m. CT.
