Hattiesburg, Miss.- The lady Toppers fall to the Crusaders of William Carey on Thursday night.
It was a solid first quarter for BMCU in the game defensively as they caused four turnovers.
Mackenzie Williams had six points with one rebound, and Charnita Brooks had five points with four rebounds.
At the end of the first quarter, the lady Toppers were in the lead by two points.
However, the William Carey Crusaders would quickly go on a nineteen-to-nine-point run in the second quarter.
Blakeney and Corpuz combined for fourteen of the nineteen points for the lady Crusaders in the second quarter.
Mia Jones and Kathryn Echols combined for the total nine points scored in the second quarter.
WCU took an eight-point lead into halftime and did not give it back.
It was difficult for the lady Toppers to get into a groove offensively and gain momentum to change the course of the game.
Crystin Guy led the team in scoring in third quarter of action with five points, but BMCU had trouble grabbing rebounds.
WCU was shooting the ball efficiently in the fourth quarter. They made sixty-one percent of their field goals.
Williams led the lady Toppers in scoring with twelve points and eight rebounds.
Brooks hit double digits scoring as well with ten points and seven rebounds.
The lady Toppers will return back to hard floor on January 4^th at UT-Southern.
