Blue Mountain, Miss.- The Toppers found rhythm in a great second half performance to move past the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes for a victory.
The Buffaloes came into the game against the Toppers with only one loss and looked the part early in the second half.
They got out in front with an eleven-to-two-point run with nine points coming from behind the arc to start the game.
There was no quit in the toppers as they stole the ball four times since the early scoring run by the Buffaloes.
Ray Witt had nine points and seven rebounds just in the first half for BMCU.
Jason Hunt chipped in offensively with eight points and four rebounds to gain a swing of momentum late the first half where the Toppers only trailed by four points at the break.
BMCU found life defensively as they held ABC to just twenty-five points in the second half with six steals.
Hunt lit it up in the second half with eighteen points, three rebounds, and three steals.
The second half was much of the same from Witt. He put thirteen points and six rebounds.
Douglas Vincent grabbed six rebounds as well for BMCU in the second half.
When the momentum swung to the Toppers, it stayed with them.
Hunt had an outstanding performance with a team high twenty-six points and seven rebounds.
Witt had a superb game as well with a double-double of twenty-two points and thirteen rebounds.
It was an exciting victory against a good out of conference opponent.
The Toppers will travel to play Oakland City University in Indiana on Monday.
