Blue Mountain. Miss.- BMCU had a persevering win on Saturday afternoon versus the Faulkner Eagles.
The lady Toppers came off a thriller on Thursday against William Carey and were determined on Saturday to come out with a victory.
The Toppers got into a rhythm offensively early in the game and showed no signs of slowing down throughout the first half.
BMCU shot just below forty percent in the first half and sixty percent from the free throw line.
The lady Toppers led by six going into halftime.
In the third quarter, BMCU started heating up from the three. They went four of seven in the third quarter from three.
By about the two minute mark in the third quarter, the lady Toppers had a fifteen-point lead, but the Faulkner eagles kept fighting and made thing interesting in the fourth quarter.
The eagles were able to take the lead a little under the midway point in the fourth quarter, but they were not able to hold it for long.
BMCU got clutch baskets at the end of the game and were able to seal the victory in their first conference win of the year.
Maddie Kirk led the Toppers in scoring with fifteen point and had five rebounds to go along with it.
Crysitn Guy was right behind Kirk with thirteen points in the game. She also had five rebounds.
Rebecca Walter was tremendous with a double-double performance of twelve points and eleven rebounds.
The lady Toppers will be back in action next Thursday at Point University at 5:30 pm.
