Blue Mountain, Miss.- BMCU narrowly lose a hard-fought game Thursday night in a triple overtime thriller.
It was a bit of a slow start for the lady Toppers in the first half shooting just twenty-five percent from the field.
Yet, even with a slow first half, BMCU only trailed the crusaders by eleven points going into the second
In the second half, the lady Toppers were able to get to the free throw line and play outstanding defense to narrow down the lead late in the second half.
Crystin Guy stepped up late to make a clutch jump shot to send it into overtime. She had twenty-two points in the game and did a fantastic job of getting to the free throw line late in the game.
Guy was sixteen of eighteen from the charity stripe.
Overtime after Overtime, BMCU would just sink their heels in and play tough defense.
Maddie Kirk was tied for a team high of three steals, and she also scored sixteen points in the game to help the lady Toppers stay in it.
Mackenzie Williams, a freshman, had a double-double in the game with fourteen rebounds and thirteen points.
Deja Pryor had ten points of her own. She hit two clutch three for BMCU.
In the end, the crusaders were able to barely escape the lady Toppers.
They will be back in action Saturday at noon versus the Faulkner eagles in another conference game.
