BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian Men picked up a 3-1 victory here Saturday on Senior Day, and it was a big one, as they knocked off Point University in SSAC play.
All three Topper goals came in the first half, as
Karim Swedi started the party at the 9:30 mark with a goal on an assist from
Caio Brandao.
Blue Mountain widened the lead to 2-0 at the 17:59 mark when Brandao found the back of the net around Skyhawk keeper Simon Niksch.
Elvis Ezendu earned the assist on the score.
At 24:20,
Kida Yamaguchi got in on the scoring, whipping a shot past Niksch to give BMCU all the goals they would need, and a 3-nil advantage at the half.
Point would score its lone goal at the 87:11 mark in the second, a goal from Tom Liebherr.
Topper keeper
Gabriel Ormeneze picked up the win between the sticks, notching seven saves in a stellar outing for the senior.
BMCU (1-5-3, 1-3 SSAC) returns to SSAC action Saturday, October 12 against Middle Georgia State in Cochran, Ga. at 2 p.m. CT.
