HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Blue Mountain Christian Volleyball moved a win closer to another 20-win season here Tuesday, blasting Oakwood University 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-9) in non-conference play.
The Toppers' fourth straight 20-plus win season could be on the horizon with just two games left in the regular season, followed by the SSAC Championship.
BMCU spread the wealth of stats around in the victory, with 11 players recording kills, led by
Helen Roy who had nine and hit .200.
Kaytie Rutland would knock down seven kills at a .400 clip.
Hailey Oliver would lead with 13 assists, while
Daisy Cordle had nine digs. Cordle would also record three service aces and
Jaiyah Jackson had two.
The Topper defense was money once again, as they held the Ambassadors to a lowly -.065 hitting percentage.
Blue Mountain remains third in the SSAC standings with one conference match left in the regular season, UT-Southern Friday, November 8 in the Blue Mountain.
BMCU (19-6, 8-4 SSAC) travels to Jackson, Tenn. Tuesday, November 5 against DII Lane College at 6 p.m. CT in non-conference play.
