BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian Women suffered a 73-57 loss here Thursday to SSAC foe Loyola.
The No. 19 Wolf Pack would get a 20-point, nine-rebound game from star Sandra Cannady, while teammate Alissa O'Dell chipped in 13 points.
Deja Pryor would lead the Lady Toppers with 18 points and five rebounds, while
Maddie Kirk put up eight points and pulled down nine rebounds.
After taking a 16-13 lead in the first quarter, Loyola started to pull away in the second quarter, leading 36-21 at the break.
Blue Mountain woke up in the second half, pouring in 23 points in the fourth quarter behind two threes from Pryor, but it was too late as the Wolfpack grabbed the SSAC event.
Loyola's depth provided 22 points off the bench with Blue Mountain's getting 11. The Lady Toppers would struggle from behind the three-point arc, shooting 6-of-25 with Loyola using mostly drives and dishes to run away with it.
BMCU (3-13, 0-8) looks to snap a six-game skid Saturday when they host state rival William Carey in SSAC play in Blue Mountain at noon CT.
