MONTGOMERY, Ala. – (RV) Blue Mountain Christian continues to roll past SSAC competition, earning its 10
thstraight victory of the season sweeping Faulkner Thursday evening 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-14).
The conference win streak for the Volley Toppers also continued, making it the 27
th straight SSAC victory in a week that saw them receive votes (RV) in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
Rae Ann Hall led the hitting charge for the Toppers against the Eagles, slamming 12 kills at a .478 clip, while SSAC Attacker of the Week
Gigi Sasso collected her seventh double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs. Sasso hit at a .474 percentage on the night.
Olivia Ashton provided eight kills with two assisted blocks and
Randi Crandall had seven for the Toppers. Crandall would also knock down three assisted blocks.
Running the 6-2, SSAC Setter of the Week
Reanna Brown handed out 22 assists and
Michaela Frederick dished out 16.
Kaytie Rutland joined Crandall with three assisted blocks and
A'Dasia Porter chipped in a couple assisted blocks also.
"I feel like we're playing extremely well as a team at this point in the season," BMCU head coach
Reid Gann said. "We continue to play well all-around, and that's a big key in a tough conference. Hopefully we can resume this level of play down the stretch."
SSAC foes continue to struggle with the Toppers, with this being the fourth-straight conference sweep. The Volley Toppers have only surrendered one set in SSAC play thus far, leading 18-1 in sets in conference.
BMCU (12-1, 6-0 SSAC) returns to SSAC action Friday, Oct. 6 against Point in West Point, Ga. with first serve set for 6 p.m. CT.
