BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – BMCU Volleyball extended its win-streak to nine games Saturday, as they blew through Mobile 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-13).
The Volley Toppers SSAC win streak also moved to 26 straight, along with a 19-home game winning streak.
Gigi Sasso blasted the Mobile defense with 13 kills and collecting her sixth double-double of the season with 11 digs. Sasso would hit at a .346 clip on the day.
Reanna Brown also had a double-double for the Toppers, dishing out 19 assists and notching 12 digs.
Michaela Frederick would also have 12 assists in the 6-2.
Olivia Ashton knocked down eight kills at .280 for the Toppers also, while
Kaytie Rutland had seven kills and
Randi Crandall added six.
A'Dasia Portert would chip in five kills and .833.
Ashton and Crandall combined for four assisted blocks on the day, with each lady collecting two.
"This was a big conference game for us, and we responded very well," BMCU head coach
Reid Gann said. "Mobile has some good hitters and our defense did a great job of digging out balls to give our offense a chance to score. It was a complete team effort out there today."
Midway through the season, Blue Mountain sits atop the SSAC standings at 5-0.
The Toppers (11-1, 5-0 SSAC) returns to SSAC action against Faulkner in Montgomery, Ala. with start time slated for 6 p.m. CT.
