BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian blasted Stillman here Friday night in SSAC play, sweeping the Tigers easily 3-0 (25-8, 25-10, 25-16).
The win put Blue Mountain in rare territory, as this was the 25
th straight SSAC victory, including post-season tournament play, dating back to September 13, 2022.
It was also the eighth-straight victory of the season since the Toppers' loss to Taylor University earlier in the season.
SSAC Attacker of the Week
Gigi Sasso led the hitting charge with nine kills in only two sets played at .368, while
Kaytie Rutland slammed seven kills at a .636 clip.
Reanna Brown finished with 18 assists in the blowout, while
Jaiyah Jackson had 10 digs.
The Blue Mountain service game was on point once again, as they would knock down eight aces as Jackson,
Kora Wilson and
Kerianna Collins all had two apiece.
"We came out and played like we are supposed to tonight," BMCU head coach
Reid Gann said. "Our front row did an outstanding job blocking and altering shots and our hitters got off some good swings. I'm very pleased with everyone's effort tonight."
Randi Crandall and
A'Dasia Porter put up a wall at the net for Blue Mountain, with Crandall getting three assisted blocks and a solo and Porter getting three assisted blocks.
BMCU (10-1, 4-0 SSAC) remains undefeated in conference play on the season and will host Mobile Saturday in Blue Mountain at 1 p.m. CT.
