MOBILE, Ala. – Thursday night saw Blue Mountain Christian Women fall in a 3-0 shutout from Mobile in the second SSAC game of the 2023 season.
The Topper offense could never position itself to make much of a threat to the Ram defense, as Mobile would get two goals in the first half.
Raegan Latiolais put the Rams up 1-0 at the 10:51 mark on a goal around Topper keeper Jordan Gates.
Mobile took the 2-0 lead at the 13:38 point when Latiolais earned an assist on a goal by Andi Hughes.
The Rams got another one in the second half at the 76:38 mark, a goal from Madison Hager on an assist by Izzabella Payne.
The Rams kept Gates busy between the sticks, as they got off 14 shots on goal while holding the Topper offense to no shots on goal.  Gates would finish with 11 saves.
The loss put Blue Mountain on a three-game skid with the conference schedule ramping up.
BMCU (2-6-1, 0-2 SSAC) gets a brutal SSAC test Saturday in Hattiesburg, Miss., as they take on national No. 1 William Carey with first whistle set for 1:30 p.m. CT.
