MOBILE, Ala. – Blue Mountain Christian played well but would eventually suffer a 1-0 shutout to No. 11 Mobile in its second SSAC tilt of the season here Thursday.
The two teams would remain scoreless in the first half, as Blue Mountain keeper
Alvaro Lopez kept the Rams off the scoreboard with two saves.
Meanwhile, the Ram defense would keep the Toppers from getting off any shots in the first half.
Mobile would finally break the ice in the second with an unassisted goal from Noah Miller at the 55:57 mark, giving his team the 1-0 lead.
Down the stretch, Blue Mountain threatened on offense but would be called for offsides twice.
Lopez finished with four saves, while Mobile keeper Ty Turner had an easy night with no shots taken at him from the Toppers.
The Ram defense would prove why it's one of the best in the nation, as they held the Toppers to just one shot by
Daniel Perez and no shots on goal.
BMCU (2-4-1, 0-1-1 SSAC) have a tough task Saturday, as they travel to No. 7 William Carey in Hattiesburg, Miss. for an SSAC tilt slated for 4 p.m. CT.
