CLINTON, Miss. – NCAA DII Mississippi College was just too much for Blue Mountain Christian Saturday, as the Choctaws stormed past the Toppers 9-0.
The match was considered an exhibition for MC but a regular-season game for the Toppers.
The Choctaws would see three players with braces in the match; Kathryn Knuth, Erin Stamatopoulos and Marion Scott.
Five different Choctaws scored on the day, keeping Topper keeper
Caitlyn Fox extremely busy while getting off 29 shots and 19 shots on goal against the Topper defense.
Choctaw keepers Rylie Waclawczyk and Madison North never saw an attempt headed their way in the two periods, with both combining for the clean sheet.
BMCU (0-1-1) has the chance to get back on track Tuesday, as they host cross-state foe Freed-Hardeman at Topper pitch with first whistle slated for 1 p.m. CT.
