NEW ORLEANS, La. – GAME 3 – Blue Mountain Christian suffered a 10-0 shutout Sunday at the hands of No. 12 Loyola, as the Wolf Pack got a complete game, five-hitter from Nathan Monceaux.
The final game of the series was moved to Sunday due to rain in the New Orleans area Saturday.
Loyola would enact the mercy rule in seven innings, as the Topper offense couldn't generate any runs against Monceaux, giving his team the SSAC sweep.
Kason Cullins provided the biggest bang for the Loyola offense, belting a three-run homer in the third against BMC's
Jackson Siler, followed by an RBI double in the fifth.
Siler (2-1) suffered the setback, going 5.1 innings, with four earned runs on seven hits and a K.
Jake Reeder also saw action on the mound for Blue Mountain, going 1.1 innings, giving up four runs on four hits with a K.
The loudest noise from the Topper bats against Monceaux was a double by
Wade Phyfer in the second to right center.
Loyola's Cullins finished 4-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored, while Brandon Mooney provided two hits.
BMCU (23-20, 6-15 SSAC) returns to action Tuesday, hosting Freed-Hardeman at 5 p.m. CT in Blue Mountain.
