BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – A rare Wednesday game at Topper Field saw Blue Mountain take down in-state foe Rust 6-4 in non-conference action.

Hayden Arant continued his torrid pace at the plate while
Weston Fuller got the nod on the hill for the Toppers.
Rust would get two off Fuller in the opening frame thanks to a two-run homer to left by Khalil Robinson.
The Blue Mountain offense fired back in the bottom of the inning against Rust starter Jackson Bryant, getting a score on an error and an RBI single by Arant to tie it.
The Toppers jumped up 4-2 in the second, as Arant struck again, this time with a two-run double to left.
Arant once again came through in the fourth, doubling down the leftfield line to score
Gavin Coles and
Zack Koon would get an RBI single in the fifth to give Blue Mountain a 6-3 lead.
Fuller (2-1) picked up the victory for BMCU, tossing a complete game, giving up four runs on five hits with four Ks.
Arant finished 4-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored, while Koon, Coles and
Alex Frillman all had two hits apiece.
Arant already has six hits, two homers and eight RBI on the week and leads the team in hitting at with a .440 average.
BMCU (23-17, 6-12 SSAC) returns to SSAC action Friday and Saturday in a three-game series against No. 12 Loyola in New Orleans, La. First pitch is noon CT both days.
