BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Faulkner dropped Blue Mountain Christian here Saturday in the SSAC Game of the Week by a score of 69-56.
The loss continues the Lady Toppers' search for its first conference win of the season, as Morgan Holland led Faulkner with 15 points in the victory.
Blue Mountain was down by eight in the third quarter put posted a strong comeback to cut it to two on a free-throw from Charnita Brooks, but a three by Dee Guinn and a free-throw from Holland put Faulkner out from for good.
Deja Pryor would lead Blue Mountain in scoring with 15 points with two steals, while Brooks finished with 12 points.
Guinn and Nequoia Adams both finished with 12 points for Faulkner.
The Lady Eagles finished with a sizeable rebounding advantage, pulling down 45 boards to Blue Mountain's 27.
Neither team shot particularly well from the floor, with both clocking in at 33 percent, while Faulkner's bench outscored Blue Mountain 30-20 on the day.
BMCU (3-10, 0-5 SSAC) finds itself on a three-game skid as they head to Point University (Ga.) Thursday in SSAC play with tip at 5:30 p.m. CT.
