Full stats not available at press time) Blue Mountain Christian Men picked up its first win of the season here Monday night, knocking off in-state foe Rust College 62-59.
The Toppers found themselves down 28-26 at the half due to a sluggish start but would pick up the pace in the second half to come from behind for the victory.
Due to full stats not being completed at press time by the home team, official statistics will be fully settled Tuesday, October 31.
Keevin Etienne led the way with 13 points and five rebounds for the Toppers, while several Toppers hit big free-throws down the stretch to give Blue Mountain the victory.
Leo Lin chipped in eight points for the Toppers, while
Kevin Hymes had seven.
"Hopefully we can work out these slow starts soon, but we're happy to get a road win tonight," BMCU head coach
Jermael Bingham said. "We still have a lot of work to do, but this will give us some confidence to get ready for our next game."
BMCU (1-1) returns to action Thursday as they host Bethel (Tenn.) in Blue Mountain with tip set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
