BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – No. 3 Dalton State got a 4-0 shutout over Blue Mountain on Senior Day in SSAC play here Saturday to round out the regular season.
After a first-half stalemate, Dalton came out roaring in the second half with its first goal at 61:25 from Jamie Mendiola off an assist from Josh Ramos.
The Roadrunners second goal came just a few minutes later at 64:10 when Jimson St. Louis scored on an assist from Jack Stainrod.
Dalton's third goal would come at 74:01 from Jack Brown off an assist from Filemon Quintero past Topper keeper
Alvaro Lopez.
Dalton would score its final goal at 88:58 on a netter from Stainrod, past substitute keeper
Gabriel Ormeneze to finally sink the Toppers.
Lopez would have three saves for the Toppers, while his team wouldn't be able to get a shot on goal off in the match.
Dalton would get seven shots on goal off, while their defense would get a clean sheet.
BMCU finishes the regular season 4-8-3 overall and 2-5-3 in the SSAC. The Toppers have qualified for the SSAC Championship and will learn where they will travel in the bracket this weekend.
