MONTGOMERY, Ala. – (RV) Faulkner Men picked up an SSAC victory over Blue Mountain Christian here late Friday night, winning in a 3-0 shutout.
The Eagles' first goal came in the first half when Matheus Rodrigues scored on an assist from Gabriel Rokbrand to give Faulkner a 1-0 lead.
Blue Mountain's Daniel Perez had a solid look at the net at 14:07 when he got off a header that was saved by Michalis Jackson, keeping the Toppers scoreless.
Faulkner would get a second score in the second half when Antoine Marques found the back of the net on an assist from Caio Pereira to make it 2-0.
The Eagles made it 3-nil at the 83:01 mark when Higor Franccedil scored on an assist from Hiro Tsuda and Franco Israel.
Blue Mountain keeper Alvaro Lopez was busy all night, as the Eagles would get off 17 shots on goal.  Lopez did a solid job with 14 saves to try and keep his team in it.
Faulkner's Jackson would be credited with the clean sheet, notching three saves.
BMCU (4-7-3, 2-4-3 SSAC) plays its final regular season match Saturday, October 28 against Dalton State in Blue Mountain at 4 p.m. CT.
