BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian Women won its second straight conference match here Saturday, besting Middle Georgia State 3-2.
The Toppers would get on the board early at the 9:43 mark of the first, a netter from
Anna Comas off an assist from
Annabel Trauschke.
At the 25:16 spot,
Adrianna Parsons put the Toppers up 2-0 with a goal before the half.
The Knights would answer at 29:05 on an unassisted goal from Brittney Orozco.
Blue Mountain would score its final but deciding goal at 34:53 when
Allana Andrews scored on an assist from
Paula Garrido.
The second half was mostly defensive, as the only goal would come from the Knights at 74:38 by Mya Cummings, unassisted.
Blue Mountain's defense was stellar, holding the Knights to just two shots on goal, while Topper keeper
Caitlyn Fox played all 90 minutes and never had to attempt a save.
BMCU (5-8-1, 3-4 SSAC) returns to SSAC action Thursday, October 19 as they host conference newcomer Thomas University at 1 p.m. CT in Blue Mountain.
