BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Blue Mountain Christian Men got a big SSAC shutout over Middle Georgia State here Saturday, winning 2-0.
The Toppers would make it 1-0 in the first half at 35:21 when
Daniel Perez found the back of the net off an assist from
Matteus Valone.
The match would remain 1-0 until the first half buzzer rang.
Blue Mountain didn't waste any time in the second, as
Jasper Hofland gave Blue Mountain a 2-0 lead with a goal, as Valone was credited with his second assist of the game.
The Topper defense stifled the Middle Georgia offense all afternoon, not allowing a shot on goal, earning a clean sheet.
BMCU keeper
Alvaro Lopez didn't have to do much work between the sticks, as his teammates kept the Knights at bay.
Blue Mountain's only two shots on goal would count, while they would also get off seven shots to MGA's six.
BMCU (4-5-3, 2-2-3 SSAC) returns to SSAC action Thursday, October 19 as they host conference newcomer Thomas (Ga.) at 3:30 p.m. CT in Blue Mountain.
