Mallory Jo George is entering her second season as the assistant softball coach at Blue Mountain Christian University.
Since her arrival, the program has broken 29 school records, including wins (39), winning percentage (.684), runs, hits, doubles, triples, RBIs, total bases, stolen bases, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, complete games, shutouts, saves, and fielding percentage. The Toppers have also set individual records in batting average, on-base percentage, at-bats, runs, hits, triples, stolen bases, RBIs, and career ERA.
During the 2026 season, the Toppers received the program's first-ever at-large bid to the opening round of the NAIA Softball National Championship, collecting their first-ever national tournament victory with a 4-3 win over Williams Baptist University.
In 2026, BMCU led the Southern States Athletic Conference in RBIs, hit-by-pitches, runs, at-bats, total bases, and stolen bases. The Toppers ranked among the NAIA's top 10 in stolen bases, triples, and hit-by-pitches, while also finishing 24th in the NAIA RPI rankings.
Following the 2026 season, George and Head Coach Matt Brunet were named the NFCA NAIA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. The coaching staff also helped lead BMCU Softball to the Mayor Todd Strange Female Champions of Character Award.
Before beginning her coaching career, George attended Blue Mountain Christian University from 2021 to 2025, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During her playing career at BMCU, she earned numerous conference and academic honors, including:
SSAC Player of the Week (2022), SSAC Freshman of the Year (2022), SSAC Champions of Character Team (2022, 2023, 2025), SSAC All-Freshman Team (2022), SSAC Second Team All-Conference (2022, 2023), and Barnes & Noble All-Academic Team honors (2023-2025).
George's mission is to glorify God through coaching softball at the collegiate level while reflecting Christ's heart toward her players and fellow coaches. The verse she leans on in pursuing this mission is 1 Corinthians 3:9: "For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building." (NIV)
She is married to her husband, Owen George.
